The year really started on a good note for Executive Chairman and CEO of EbonyLife TV, Mo Abudu. Since the debut of her TV network, the entrepreneur has been on a never-ending ride on the crest of stardom. From winning prestigious awards to appearing on international media platforms, in January, she was recognised by Forbes as one of the most successful women in Africa.
In April, she premiered Desperate Housewives Africa, an adaptation of the award-winning ABC drama-series Desperate Housewives. Not too long ago, another production of hers ‘Fifty’, directed by Biyi Bandele was premiered in Nigeria after getting exciting raves on the international scene.
The media entrepreneur recently acquired the format rights from CBS Studios International to classic blockbuster series Melrose Place and Dynasty. EbonyLife TV will bring to its teeming audience across the globe the iconic and unforgettable series in African adaptation. The production is solidified by the co-production partnership between EbonyLife TV and Walt Disney company.
Apparently, Mo’Abudu is putting her footprints on the sands of time with her unparalleled achievements as the first woman to own one of the fastest rising black African multi-broadcast entertainment networks which showcases informative and entertaining programmes
that portray Africa at its best. Her ambition knows no boundaries or challenges, which is what have set her apart from her contemporaries. Though they tow her path, they hardly record impressive breakthroughs like talk show host. Who knows, she may even emerge as the first female president of Nigeria.
